I have been a stay at home mom for 3 years now and I must say, I have loved it! We were fortunate enough to have things work out so I was able to stay home! Things haven't been quite as comfortable lately, so Tony and I discussed the possibility of me going back to work. Well... someone definitely has a plan in mind for me because opportunities have been handed to me on a silver platter! As soon as we decided I should find a job, a great friend of mine told me of a wonderful job opening. But then I fought with the idea of what to do with my kids!! I knew my mom couldn't watch them 5 days a week and I didn't know enough about day care or feel comfortable enough with one!! That very day, my mom showed me a letter she got in the mail of a daycare running in our neighborhood!!! I quickly called them and asked how long their waiting list was, and she told me she just had 2 openings!!! Now just to make this story even cooler, she hasn't had a turn around in 7 years!!! And she just had 2 openings??!! I quickly told her I wanted them and ran her over a check. (Yes... without even having a job yet!) I just knew this was too good to be true! So I had my interview with this company and felt really good about it!! It just felt like I was suppose to be there! She told me she would call me back for a second interview, and she did. I went in this morning and met with a few other people and... I GOT THE JOB!!! I am thrilled about this job! It is for the University of Utah Medical Group down town. I am going to be an Administrative Assistant. No more paying $500 a month for crappy healthcare either! WAHOO.
The down side is, I will miss my kids!!! Any advise from any working mothers out there?? Wish me luck!

Congrats Girl!! That is very exciting!! Someone was definitly looking out for you guys. : ) Being away from the kids is going to be hard. I've had two different jobs since I had the kids both working 40 plus hours a week. One I was lucky enough that it was a preschool and they were there too. But all you can do is make the best of the time you do have with them. Have a special night time routine and maybe get up a little earlier than you need to in the morning so you have extra time with them. Good Luck!! I'm hapy for you!
Wow! Everything happens for a reason. Congratulations. Someone is looking out for the Pizzas. ;)
OMG...You tell me to quit my job, and look what you do...Well I guess I have to say that I am happy for you, when do you start? Because we will have to do lunch before then.
Crazy. Sometimes when things all work out and fall into place you know they are right. You will miss your kids but if this is what you are supposed to do you will find comfort in it all. Let me know if there is anything I can do.
Yay! Congratulations Lizz! It's so cool when things work out like that, then you kind of know you're doing the right thing. It'll be hard not to see your kids, but you'll cherish the time you do have with them so much more. When are we going to plan a girls night?
Congrats! I am so excited for you that it all worked out. I can't wait to hear all about the new job!
You are going to be awesome and we are going to have so much fun working together! You will have lots of working moms right there along side you and ready to help! You probably didn't know you sent the address to your blog...look at your cute little family!

Oh wow!!! Things really did play out right for you! That is so awsome. I know how you feel about missing your kids. That part is hard, but since you have to work it's wonderful how everything is all working out! You must be livin right. I've been working since Scotty was 3 months old, but only two days a week and I'm quitting this week. I'm super scared yet excited and hope everything will work out for us too. Good luck with the change!
lizz that is so great! you know it was meant to be when everything falls into place like that! It was hard to be away from my girls when I worked, but actually what I miss the most about not working now is the adult interaction. It'll be great for you! Good luck with the new job!
The hardest part about working is finding someone that you trust!! SUCH A BLESSING that it worked out so perfectly!!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS, LIZZ!!!! This is VERY exciting news! I can't wait to hear about the job and how everything goes for you! Best wishes...and, just remind yourself that the kids will be fine-they will enjoy time with the other kids and you guys can spend time together in the evenings and on the weekends! Enjoy "your" time-even though it will be at the office. You will make tons of friends-just like you always do! It definitely sounds like this was meant to be for all of you guys! All my love!!
I'm going to miss all of the lunch dates and play dates we planned...not that we ever did them, but now it's pointless to even pretend! Congrats on the job, it really couldn't have worked out better for you.
love ya!
So I work right now and that is why I am so nervous to have kids~ I don't know how to divide my time. When I think of not working that scares me? When I think of working and having kids that scares me? I don't know what to do so if you figure it out let me know!
